Hi Everyone!

It's been awhile since the last news update. There's lots to report for 2008 here at keithcarlock.com!

Since the year began, Keith has been busy doing gigs with RUDDER, OZ NOY, recording with various artists including CLAY AIKEN who has a new CD released May 6th, and returned from Europe on a short tour with Chris Minh Doky and the Nomad All-Stars.

Keith will be joining STEELY DAN for their upcoming summer tour! The tour starts June 8th and continues through August 2008. The tour schedule with NEW DATES are listed on the "tour dates" page, and as always, check steelydan.com for latest additions and updates!

Upcoming releases include Walter Becker's new solo CD entitled "Circus Money". For clips and information, go to www.walterbecker.com. The US release date is set for June 10th.  Check this one out!!!  Other upcoming recordings with Sean Wayland, Adam Klipple's Drive By Leslie, and more to be announced when info is available.  

Keith recently won the "Pop" category, and also voted 3rd in the "All-Around" category in the 2008 Modern Drummer Readers Poll! Keith is very honored and thanks everyone for their votes and support!!! Thank you all!

We are happy to announce that Keith will be doing his debut instructional DVD! Currently in preproduction, shooting will begin later this year for an anticipated 2009 release. We'll keep you posted as the project progresses. As always, check back on the tour page for clinics to be added. These things always come up quick!

In other news, Keith will finally reunite with Wayne Krantz in October 2008 for an Australian tour! Tal Wilkenfeld will be playing bass. Tour dates have been announced! Please check the "tour" page. You can check here for additional info. Possible California and/or Japan dates to follow. The Knitting Factory show scheduled for July 9th has been postponed. Please check back for updates on the news and tour dates pages!

For all you Nashville people, Keith will be playing with the Oz Noy Trio at Third and Lindsley, August 30th at 10PM! Michael Rhodes is playing bass. Please come if you can to this rare Nashville appearance!

Some new RUDDER news:

Our label, Nineteen-Eight Records,  just launched their new website.  (www.nineteeneight.com)

We are offering 3 previously unreleased tracks directly (digital download) EXCLUSIVELY on the Nineteen-eight site. These are tracks that we recorded, mixed and mastered at the same time as the album tracks.  They have been sitting around and now we have a perfect reason to put them out there.    Go take a look at nineteeneight.com. There is lots of cool stuff there and you can grab other rudder items like scores as well as the album itself.

Rudder is starting work in the studio next week on our next record.  In September, we will be touring in Japan.  We are going over to play at the Sense of Wonder festival as well as two other club gigs. On our way back, we will play Friday Sept. 19th at the Monterey Jazz Festival.  On Sept 20th we will be back in LA at the Baked Potato! Please check back here for more info as it all develops.
